Praised for her “clear, sparkling tone” (South Florida Classical Review), award winning harpist Anna Ellsworth is in demand as a performer of solo and orchestral music.
As a winner and recipient of the Anne Adams Award, Ellsworth was featured in the opening concert of the 42nd American Harp Society National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, she is a two time winner of the Boston Harp Festival’s Stars of Tomorrow competition and subsequently performed in the festival’s Stars of Tomorrow concerts. She has won prizes in the Young Artist’s Harp Competition and numerous concerto competitions, as well as received the Presser Award and been nominated for the Arthur Foote Prize, awarded by the Harvard Musical Association to "performers of the highest musical caliber".
She has appeared as a soloist with the Hemenway Strings, Miami Music Festival Orchestra, and Boston Conservatory Conductor’s Orchestra. As an orchestral musician, she has played with ensembles such as the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Orchestra of Indian Hill, and Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra and is a substitute harpist for the Boston Lyric Opera and Portland Symphony Orchestra. Summer credits include the Miami Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, Saratoga Harp Colony, and the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Ellsworth began her studies with Jude Mollenhauer. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and is currently attending the Yale School of Music for graduate studies.
